We’re proud of Lark Tavern’s longtime presence in the Capital Region, and our indelible place in the city’s grand history.
Our dramatic, unique structure was built in the mid-1800s as a firehouse for horse-drawn fire trucks. Decades later, our building was one of the city’s first silent movie theaters. In 1933, when prohibition ended, the picturesque setting was converted into our beloved Lark Tavern, a favorite neighborhood pub. Sadly, in 2010, a devastating fire destroyed the popular gathering place.
We’re pleased and honored to have renovated and reopened this iconic establishment for patrons who remember us fondly, as well as new guests discovering that a visit to Lark Tavern is a look back into bygone days, a chance to linger and enjoy a slower pace.
